Mysterious Roguelike Dungeon Crawler Mistover Creeps Onto Switch Later Today

If your a fan of roguelikes or dungeon crawlers, Switch has got a fairly hefty selection of games to choose from and today there’s another joining the lineup. Mistover will take you on an expedition to discover the mysteries of a vortex known as the Pillar of Despair in search of a cure to a creeping mist drifting across the kingdom of Arta. This mysterious moisture causes life to shrivel and brings with it dirty creatures that destroy whatever they come across.

Coming from developer Krafton Game Union, you’ll take your Corps of explorers into the procedurally generated dungeons of the ‘Misfortune Mist’ and engage in ‘strategy focused’ turn-based combat as you battle to rid the kingdom of all this nastiness and generally make things right as rain.

No prizes for guessing its a roguelike, although this one seems to have been tuned for people who enjoy punishment according to a bunch details from the official blurb:

– Over 40-hours of expeditions through five distinct regions
– Procedurally generated dungeons deliver new expedition experiences every time
– Build an invincible Corps by combining and strategizing with eight different classes
– Learn and master over 13 unique skills and upgrade equipment to enhance Corps members
– Exposure to the Mist affects everything, sometimes in surprising ways, including Corps members, monsters, plants and animals, and even equipment, items, and relics
– Unique game systems find players managing internal conflicts between ‘satisfaction’ and ‘greed’
– Novice to expert players can set their difficulty with Easy, Medium and Hard levels
– Designed for players who like difficulty, MISTOVER is not for the faint of heart – and features a permanent death system

As you can see, it’s got a muted colour palette and that art looks rather nice. Everything’s suitably grim given the subject matter, so if turn-based dungeon crawling RPGs and roguelike shenanigans get you going, Mistover may be worth a look when it drifts onto eShop today for the sum of $29.99 / €27,99 / £24.99.

Had your fill of roguelikes for one console generation? Pah, of course not! Let us know if you like the look of this one below.
